Thanks to your support, I joined the Santa Clara County Board of Education (SCCBOE) in December 2024 as your representative for Trustee Area 1 (Palo Alto, Stanford, Los Altos, Los Altos Hills, Mountain View and North Sunnyvale). In an effort of transparency and accessibility, I have created this blog called "Notes on SCCBOE" to update you on upcoming board meetings, share helpful primers like this one, and make you aware of my office hours and SCCBOE and Santa Clara County Office of Education (SCCOE) events. Before every board meeting I plan to write a post outlining what to expect, where I will explain tricky subjects, and share background where needed, all in a way that is easy to understand.
For my very first post, I will cover generally how to follow and engage with your SCCBOE.
What is my trustee area? Enter your address here and find out.
Who is my trustee? Once you know your trustee area, find your trustee here. I represent Trustee Area 1.
When are agendas posted? Agendas are normally posted the Friday before a board meeting by 5pm.
Where can you access SCCBOE agendas and minutes? You can access both here. Agendas can also be found here.
How can I view SCCBOE meetings from the comfort of my home? You click on this link and scroll down to the Watch Live heading.
Where can I view old meetings? Use the same link above, but scroll down to the Archived Videos heading and choose the meeting you would like to watch. Once you have chose the meeting, the site allows you to skip to the part of the agenda you would like to watch.
How do I contact all trustees to share my comments? You can send a message to them all using this email address: SCCBOEMembers@sccoe.org
I hope you have found this helpful. Please let me know of other subject matters you would like covered and I will see what I can do. I truly want to make the work of the SCCBOE more transparent and accessible and will put in the hard work to make it a reality.
Congratulations on winning the election and best wishes for productive engagement with the issues you ran on. Thank you for keeping us posted on the important work of the SCCBOE .
